Who we are
Golf Sim Ledger is a golf simulator price-comparison site operated by Orenston. Questions or requests about your data: use our contact form.
What we collect
- What you type into our forms. Newsletter: your email. Commercial quote requests: venue type, number of bays, budget range, timeline, ZIP code, name, business (optional), email, phone (optional) and any notes. Contact form: topic, name, email and message. With each we store the time, the page and the exact consent wording you agreed to.
- Automatic data. Pages viewed and clicks on links to sellers (which seller, which product, the page you came from), counted by our own first-party, cookieless system. Cloudflare, our host, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not store your IP address.
- Cookies. We set no tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser stores two small preferences locally (your compare list and, if analytics is ever enabled, your cookie choice); these never leave your device. If you click through to a seller, that seller or an affiliate network (for example Sovrn Commerce) may set its own cookies on its site under its own policy. Google Analytics is not active; if it is enabled in future it will load only after you accept, and this policy will be updated first.
Why we use it
To answer your requests, send the newsletter you asked for, measure which pages and products are useful, keep the site secure, and earn affiliate commissions or referral fees (see our Disclosure).
Who receives it
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and its database.
- An email provider to send the newsletter, once one is chosen; it will receive only subscriber emails.
- Affiliate networks and sellers, only through their own cookies after you click to their site.
- Installers or partners, only for a quote request, and only after we tell you exactly who and you agree.
We never sell your personal information for money.
Your Privacy Choices
Under some US state laws, letting affiliate networks track a click to a seller can count as “sharing” for targeted advertising. You can opt out of that at any time:
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically: links to sellers go straight to the seller without affiliate-network tracking, and we record the signal with any form you submit.
- Ask us. Use the contact form (topic: “Something else”) and say “opt out”. We’ll apply it to anything tied to your email.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for any sale, sharing or targeted advertising. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Iowa, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island have these rights by law. Send a request through the contact form; we’ll respond within 45 days, and you can appeal a refusal by replying to our answer. We won’t treat you differently for using your rights.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests: 24 months.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We then keep only your email on a suppression list so we never email you again.
- Contact messages: 24 months.
- Page-view and click counts: 25 months.
- Cloudflare logs: per Cloudflare’s own retention.
The newsletter goes out twice a month. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Visitors outside the US
If you’re in the EU or UK, we process your data on the basis of your consent (newsletter, forms) and our legitimate interest in running and securing the site. You have the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. Contact us to use them. Your data is stored and processed in the US by Cloudflare.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS and stored in Cloudflare’s database with access limited to the site operators. No method is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect to a minimum.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll note it on the site and in the newsletter.
